To walk again, to work again, to live again
Vaak wordt bij personen met een dwarslaesie in de beroepsactieve levensfase op het einde van de revalidatie gesproken over re-integratie naar hun huidige of een nieuwe job. Hierdoor wordt terugkeren naar werk bij personen met een fysieke beperking belemmerd of vertraagd.
Het doel van deze studie is nagaan welke noden en behoeften personen met een dwarslaesie ervaren tijdens terugkeer naar werk en op welke wijze ergotherapie een meerwaarde kan leveren in kader van initiatieven die “To Walk Again” daarvoor wenst te ontwikkelen.
Algemeen kan geconcludeerd worden dat in de begeleiding van beroepsactieve personen jobbehoud en re-integratie moet worden meegenomen als uitkomstmaat en zo vroeg mogelijk besproken moet worden tijdens ergotherapeutische interventies, om een zo groot mogelijke participatie en terugkeer naar het werk van de cliënt te realiseren.
